Another example of an event that you can attend all year round on weekdays is Federal Reserve Bank Tour, which takes place every week day at 1 pm (but advanced reservations are required). You can take at least 13 free tours every day of the year, except the New Year Day, July 4th, and the Christmas Day. If you are classical music afficionado, you can spend whole day in New York going from one free classical concert to another. If you love theater, then New York gives you an option to attend plays and musicals free of charge, or at deep discount. You just need to have information about it. City Walk | Battery Park City: 'Green Guidelines', Teardrop Park and More


The tour covers the north residential neighborhood of Battery Park City, built mostly after 2001 to mandatory "green guidelines." It was developed in several phases, beginning with Stuyvesant High School at the northeast edge and the esplanade and Rockefeller Park along the Hudson. A diagonal avenue lined with apartment buildings creates one face of the neighborhood, while the inner courts of the large blocks are connected by the delightful Teardrop Park, designed by experts in sustainability, soil toxicity, and waterfront infrastructure, Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates. Explore this small park which concentrates landscape architecture into a miniature world. Tour duration is around 60 minutes.

Movie in a Park | Oscar Winner Spike Lee's NYC Epicenters: 9/11->2021 1/2 (2021): HBO's Epic Chronicle


NYC Epicenters: 9/11->2021 1/2 is a rich tapestry of New York City in the 21st century, weaving together the stories, memories and insights of those who were eyewitnesses to New York's greatest challenges. Lee conducted over 200 interviews for the documentary series which features first-hand accounts from residents of all walks of life, including first responders, politicians and journalists alongside Lee and his own family and friends, complemented by a treasure trove of visual imagery. The filmmaker uses his unique sensibilities to craft a multi-faceted mosaic of the city as it deals with some of the most life-changing events of the last twenty years. This provocative series is an epic chronicle of life, loss and survival that captures the flavor and heart of New York City. It explores its resilience and grit and affirming its innate ability to rebound, rebuild and endure. The four-part documentary series consists of eight chapters in total. Jazz | Tenor Saxophon in a Park


Bill Saxton, hard bop tenor saxophonist appeared with and/or record with jazz giants, such as Roy Haynes, Jackie McLean, Clark Terry, Nancy Wilson, The Duke Ellington Orchestra, The Count Basie Orchestra, Frank Foster, Carmen, McRae, Mongo Santa Maria, Roy Ayers, Barry Harris, Tito Puente, and Charles Tolliver, to name a few. Saxton toured with the US State Department extensively in West Africa. He went on to play across Europe and into Japan and the Caribbean. The White House honored him during Black Music Month, The Harlem Jazz Museum featured his life and The Library of Music at New York's Lincoln Center housed his induction as a Jazz Legend. In Harlem he also established himself as a bandleader of world class musicians for over ten years being joined by Bobby Watson, Hilton Ruiz, Bobby Forester and John Hicks.
