Concert | Axiom Ensemble performs work by Magnus Lindberg


The contemporary music ensemble, conducted by Music Director Jeffrey Milarsky, performs a program that includes works in the first half of the program that have influenced Finnish composer Lindberg's music -- Igor Stravinsky's Symphonies of Wind Instruments (1920) and Iannis Xenakis' Okho(1989) -- and concludes with Lindberg's Joy (1989-90), a rarely-performed, difficult work for chamber orchestra in the second half of the program. Lindberg will be on hand during rehearsals to coach the musicians, and he will be in attendance at the concert.
