Opening Reception | True Beauty: Multi-Artist Exhibition Embracing Imperfection & Individuality

Experience the exhibition True Beauty, a group exhibition exploring how beauty is perceived, experienced, and redefined through contemporary female perspectives. The exhibition brings together works by five contemporary artists: Lauren Camara, Reka Nyari, Mercedes Jelinek, Leila Massenet, and Daisy Seilern. Through diverse material approaches and deeply personal narratives, True Beauty examines the evolving relationship between femininity, identity, and perception. Together, the works challenge conventional ideals and reposition beauty as an intimate and complex human condition rather than a fixed aesthetic standard. Across photography, collage, painting, and mixed media, the artists explore how beauty can emerge through vulnerability, healing, displacement, emotional intensity, and acts of reclamation. Rather than idealizing perfection, the exhibition embraces imperfection and individuality. The works resist passive representations of femininity and instead emphasize feminine agency, power, and psychological depth. The exhibition also reflects on the tension between societal perception and personal identity. The artists reconsider what society chooses to value, overlook, or define as beautiful. In doing so, True Beauty expands the boundaries of beauty beyond the surface and into the emotional, cultural, and environmental realities that shape contemporary life.

Discussion | Discover Jewish Influence on the American Revolution (In Person AND Online!)

Dr. Jonathan Sarna (Brandeis University) and Dr. Laura Leibman (Princeton University), two of the foremost experts on early American Jewish history, explore how Jews experienced, debated and helped shape the American Revolution - and how their choices during this pivotal moment reshaped both Jewish life and American history. As the American colonies moved toward independence, how did Jewish immigrants' European experiences shape their political loyalties and moral choices? Why did some support the Revolution while others opposed it, and what tensions did these decisions create within the emerging Jewish communities? While Jews made up less than 0.04 percent of the American population in 1776, they left an indelible mark on the nation's founding.

Talk | Historians Explore the Origins & Legacy of the Society of American Magicians

Richard Cohn, magician, historian, author, consultant, and Associate of the Inner Magic Circle, will speak of the origins of The Society of American Magicians. He will also talk of the role of Dr. Saram Ellison in the founding and establishment of the S.A.M. The Society of American Magicians today is an outgrowth of what had initially been a Saturday night social tradition inaugurated in New York City in the 1890’s.  Thomas Ewing, S.A.M. National Historian will focus on Harry Houdini and his efforts to transform what was originally a New York group into an international organization. This metamorphosis not only brought clubs located in other cities into the fold but hobbyists and amateurs, as well as professionals in other regions, into the fabric of what is today an international organization.

Play | Shakespeare's Julius Caesar: Historical Tragedy in the Park

This iconic Shakespearean tragedy follows the political conspiracy that led to the assassination of the Roman dictator Julius Caesar and Rome's subsequent civil war.  Written by William Shakespeare. Directed by Jonathan Hopkins Cast: Louis Butelli, Amara James Aja, Katie Willmorth, Bryce Foley, Jonathan Minton, Noelle Franco, Petron Brown, Xueyun (Harry) Zhai. The theater supplies 100 chairs nightly for the audience.
