Performance | Lotto Royale: One Performance Artist, One Audience Member


A rare constellation of seventeen artists will present Lotto Royale, a performance lottery of one-on-one encounters, performances, practices, and journeys through the urban landscape for one viewer at a time. Performances by Luciana Achugar, Lauren Bakst, Amelia Bande, Raha Behnam, Mayfield Brooks, Moriah Evans, Julia Gladstone, Nile Harris, Niall Jones, Jennifer Monson, Elliot Reed, Alex Rodabaugh, nibia pastrana santiago, Keioui Keijaun Thomas, ms. z tye, Mariana Valencia, and Anh Vo. Rather than reserving a ticket to see a specific artistic work, Lotto Royale audience members reserve time slots for the performances. Upon arrival, all individual audience members will be matched by lottery with artists for a one-on-one performance (one artist and one audience member. The artists and the audience will then travel to a nearby location in public space to experience the performance. Lotto Royale was conceived and developed by artist Camila Malenchini in collaboration with Layton Lachman and the collective T.E.N.T. and was first presented in Berlin in August 2022 with performances by Berlin-based artists.
