Tour | High Line Tour

The area around the High Line Park was a vital business district of New York City, supplying fresh fruits, French Cheeses and Russian caviar as well as fresh meats to City markets. When interstate truck traffic made the railway outdated, it fell into ruin, only to be regenerated as a park.

Workshop | Looking at Architecture: Capturing the Best Angles of Buildings and Cities

There are many ways to capture the architecture of our buildings and cities. Photographer Paul Clemence has been exploring the different angles and perspectives since his days as an architecture student. Now, from straight documentary images to carefully composed abstractions, Clemence has photographed important buildings all over the world, with several books published, his work appears frequently in most prominent architecture, art, lifestyle and travel publications. In this event Clemence will present a selection of his work, including images of his critically acclaimed book “Mies vand der Rohe’s FARNSWORTH HOUSE," his most recent series and his evolving essay on New York City architecture. Every image has a story and Paul will not just comment on each image but also elaborate on the circumstances of each. He will also discuss his technique and artistic approach to look at buildings in ways to discover new and creative angles that can express the essence of the structures being photographed.
