Another example of an event that you can attend all year round on weekdays is Federal Reserve Bank Tour, which takes place every week day at 1 pm (but advanced reservations are required). You can take at least 13 free tours every day of the year, except the New Year Day, July 4th, and the Christmas Day. If you are classical music afficionado, you can spend whole day in New York going from one free classical concert to another. Designed by famed architect Cass Gilbert and completed in 1907, the Custom House is a National Historic Landmark. Concert | Eli Smith, Folk Singer and Banjoist


Eli Smith will present a program American folk song rarities, including songs and ballads from the North, South, East and West as well as banjo breakdowns and blues. Smith is a folk singer, banjoist, and guitarist who grew up in New York’s Greenwich Village. Smith has recorded for Smithsonian Folkways Recordings and regularly performs as a solo musician and with the string band the Down Hill Strugglers. He is also a music producer, currently heading the annual Brooklyn Folk Festival and Washington Square Park Folk Festival, and has curated releases of historic archival recordings for Dust-to-Digital and Jalopy Records. Smith also hosts the New York-based Down Home Radio Show, which is available at www.DownHomeRadioShow.com. He has performed and recorded with John Cohen (New Lost City Ramblers), Peter Stampfel (The Holy Modal Rounders and The Fugs), and playwright/actor/musician Sam Shepard, and has opened for songwriters Patti Smith and Steve Earle. Smith has performed at festivals and venues including the Kennedy Center, Library of Congress, Newport Folk Festival, Vancouver Folk Festival, The Jalopy Theatre and many more.
