About the Performers
The Juilliard Orchestra, Juilliard’s largest and most visible performing ensemble, is comprised of all orchestral instrumental majors in the bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, led by numerous world-renowned guest conductors, including John Adams, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Esa-Pekka Salonen, and many others. The Juilliard Orchestra performs regularly at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, as well as in opera and dance productions, special events and broadcasts, and national and international tours.

Acknowledged for his “sense of style and sophistication” by Opera News, noted  as “an amazingly versatile conductor” by The Boston Globe, and praised for conducting with “admiral command” by The New York Times, Gil Rose is a musician helping to shape the future of classical music. Over the past two decades, Mr. Rose has built a reputation as one of the country’s most inventive and versatile conductors before the public. His dynamic performances on both the symphonic and operatic stages as well and over 75 recordings have garnered international critical praise.
