This weekend-long festival unlocks over300 destinations across the city for special tours and activities. Enjoy visits to major new projects, explore neighborhoods in a new way, and discover why the city looks and works the way it does. Take a look at new buildings transforming the skyline, step inside infrastructure facilities keeping the city running, explore parks offering respite, discover state-of-the-art performance spaces, visit manufacturing workshops, browse private collections, and much more. Many museums, monuments, arts spaces, historical societies, architectural projects, and more are open for visitors. Many festival experiences are Drop-In--no tickets needed. Some require tickets for space or security reasons. Ticketing opens on October 3 at 12 pm.

This is not a new style of yoga, but a gathering of timeless practices — accessible, grounding, and deeply restorative. Led with science and tradition at the heart, this class will guide you through a sequence of postures designed to balance, stabilize, and calm the body and mind. The word Sangraha means “a collection,” and this practice brings together postures and breathwork that activate the parasympathetic nervous system, helping you leave feeling focused, connected, and at ease. This event is for people to come together and share in the beautiful art of Origami--an ancient art of folding various mediums, most commonly paper. The word comes from the combination of the Japanese verb oru (to fold) and the noun kami (paper). Other materials often folded are fabric, wire mesh, sheet metal, tissue, thin plastic, cardboard, and straws.This group meets to teach each other new models and share paper, books, and tips. This meeting iopen to all level of folders from beginner to advanced. There will be free paper available to share. You may choose to bring your own paper and books and just show up and fold! If you have models you would like to learn, or teach, let the organizers know, and they will try our best to accommodate.

The day includes an interactive performance for children called The Garden, presented by Flying Leap Productions, along with a lively lineup of hands-on art activities inspired by the creativity of Halloween on the Lower East Side. Come dressed to impress for the costume parade! The Garden showtimes: 1:30pm 2:45pm The Garden is an outdoor performance created for children between the ages of 3 and 5 and their caregivers. Through movement and play shared in multiple languages, audiences are invited on a journey through nature’s life cycle using all five senses. This event is free and open to the public.

After launching in Denmark in May 2023 to rave reviews, LOL: Laughing Out Lonely premieres in the U.S. Acclaimed countertenor Morten Grove Frandsen embodies multiple characters in this thrilling solo opera about isolation, otherness, and the internet. LOL utilizes lyrics based on young people's social media posts to create a compelling, relevant, and thought-provoking portrait of community. The work was developed by composing team Matilde Böcher and Asger Kudahl, who prove that our online worlds are as universal as they are hyper-specific. Experience this unique perspective on opera and media. There are two ways to access this event: 1. General Admission, first-come first-served. Just show up! 2. Fast Track opening the Monday before the event at noon.
