Workshop | An Afternoon of Rowing in New York Harbor


At this rowing session, after a brief orientation, participants will be assigned to a crew with an experienced coxswain to steer the boat and a mixture of experienced and new rowers. The boats, Whitehall gigs, are stable, traditional working boats for four rowers and a coxswain. No experience is necessary and rowers of all ability levels are welcome! The rowing sessions last several hours and are designed to be excursions: groups row against the tide to a destination, take a break onshore or in a protected cove, then return home with the tide. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Please complete the waiver before you arrive.

Attendees are invited to join NYC's most joyous participatory community choirs led by 2026-2027 Choir Director Ben Bram. No musical preparation or singing experience is necessary for this event, just be prepared to share your voice!   Climate Sing brings people together through passionate, original music to get more people joyfully singing and loving on our planet. Learn and sing two brand new commissioned songs, "Goldie" by Britton Smith and "State of Emergency" by Mumu Fresh, which celebrate our relationship to the planet. There will also be a group sing of "Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver.
