Book synopsis: From her cell in a mysterious convent, a woman writes the story of her life in whatever she can find--discarded ink, dirt, and even her own blood. A lower member of the Sacred Sisterhood, deemed an unworthy, she dreams of ascending to the ranks of the Enlightened at the center of the convent and of pleasing the foreboding Superior Sister. Outside, the world is plagued by catastrophe--cities are submerged underwater, electricity and the internet are nonexistent, and bands of survivors fight and forage in a cruel, barren landscape. Inside, the narrator is controlled, punished, but safe. But how did she get to the Sacred Sisterhood? Why can't she remember her life before? Stine An is a Korean American poet, literary translator, and performer based in New York City. Her poems and translations have appeared in Best American Experimental Writing, Best Literary Translations, Electric Literature, Poem-a-Day, and elsewhere. Her publications include S_MMER CR_SH (2025), Winter Night Rabbit Worries (2026), and Today's Morning Vocabulary (2025) by South Korean poet Yoo Heekyung, and B-Dragon Suite. Noah Arhm Choi is the author of Cut to Bloom, winner of the 2019 Jack McCarthy Prize. A Lambda Literary Poet-In-Residence and Valentine's Editor for Honey Literary, they received an MFA from Sarah Lawrence, and their work appears in The Adroit Journal, Split this Rock, The Rumpus, Foglifter, and elsewhere. Noah was shortlisted for the Poetry International Prize and received the Ellen Conroy Kennedy Poetry Prize, alongside fellowships from Kundiman, the Sewanee Writers’ Conference, and the Adirondack Center for Writing. Theo LeGro was a queer Vietnamese-American poet and both a Kundiman Mentorship Lab Fellow and Kundiman Retreat Fellow. Their debut, Don’t Let It Kill You, was the winner of the 2025 Lexi Rudnitsky First Book Prize in Poetry from Persea Books. Benedict Nguyễn is a freelance dancer and creative producer. Her writing on labor and culture has appeared in The Baffler, BOMB, Los Angeles Review of Books, Vanity Fair, among other publications. Bobuq Sayed is a queer cultural worker of the Afghan diaspora. In 2024, they published the chapbook A Brief History of Australian Terror and, in 2026, their debut novel, No God But Us, was released worldwide.

The artist initiates a call and response between her hand and her materials, which include oils as well as unconventional substances such as oxidized iron. She pours and combines these pigments across the canvas, creating atmospheric and multilayered works that revel in a state of flux; slipping between order and chaos, spontaneity and deliberation, their surfaces constantly shift as the artist works, and as the viewer beholds them. As he seduces women, defies social conventions, mocks religion, and revels in provocation, his appetite for transgression seems impossible to satisfy. Yet the signs are unmistakable: the walls are closing in. Will he truly repent? Or will he just pretend to, like so many around him, and continue down the same path to the bitter end? Dancing | Step Back in Time with Grammy-Nominated Swing Band
New Swing Sextet first graced a New York stage at the 1965 World's Fair; 60 years later they are still ... more >> swinging throughout the city. Known for their blend of Latin jazz, pop, and salsa - as well as contributions to the NYC-born genre of boogaloo -- New Swing Sextet recorded four albums for Cotique Records before disbanding in the early 1970s. Following a 25-year hiatus, the group reunited to release new material - including the Grammy-nominated Back on the Streets via Fania in 2008. Today, the band shares their classic New York sound with contemporary audiences: big percussion, vibrophone, harmonies, and swinging rhythms for salsa dancers. There are two ways to access this event: 1. General Admission, first-come first-served. Just show up! 2. Fast Track opening the Monday before the event at noon.
