In Vermont, college student Ives Towner refuses to marry his longtime girlfriend, Julie Weir, until he has a career. Soon after, Julie meets and grows infatuated with handsome writer Michael Shaw, and they marry and move to Paris. Years later, after Michael's accidental death, Julie and her daughter move back to Vermont to live with her aunt, and Julie finds Ives, now a professor, disinterested in resuming their romantic relationship. Directors: Joshua Logan, Arthur Ripley, George Cukor Cast: Joan Bennett, Henry Fonda Henry Fonda was an American actor whose career spanned five decades on Broadway and in Hollywood. On screen and stage, he often portrayed characters that embodied an everyman image. He received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as Tom Joad in The Grapes of Wrath (1940). Fonda won the Academy Award for Best Actor at the 54th Academy Awards for his final film role in On Golden Pond (1981), which co-starred Katharine Hepburn and his daughter Jane Fonda. He was too ill to attend the ceremony and died from heart disease five months later.

This "Jelinek Day" examines Elfriede Jelinek's enduring relevance in today's global debates on democracy, gender, and the performing arts. Centered on the theme Theater & Democracy, the event highlights how contemporary theater can challenge authoritarian and patriarchal structures while creating new forms of artistic and political engagement. The evening features keynote discussions, panel conversations, and artistic presentations exploring Jelinek's work in dialogue with international theater practices. Additional sessions examine gender and democracy on stage, women shaping democratic structures through performance, and the relationship between comedy and subversion in contemporary theater.

Opening Reception | Blue: Solo Exhibtion Focusing on the Mutable Form of the Cloud
This exhibition features Blue, which brings together a new body of work spanning three distinct series. The exhibition blurs the boundaries between traditional landscape and portraiture. Throughout the exhibition, painting emerges not simply as a mode of representation, but as an ongoing process of looking, discovering, and becoming. The act of observation—central to Kim's practice—first led her to capture the elusive, ever-changing nature of the human face. It is through this same perpetual attention, and through the lens of portraiture, that she also approaches landscape, focusing on the mutable form of the cloud.

Opening Reception | Hanging Out: Solo Exhibition Embracing the Key as a Motif
New work by Nate Lowman (b. 1979). The exhibition debuts a body of shaped canvases that take the form of keys–objects freighted with associations of access, security, and exclusion–a new motif for the artist. Lowman has frequently employed universally recognizable shaped canvases including hearts, tree-shaped air fresheners, poppies, and maps, among others, each produced in iterations with distinct painted surfaces. His key paintings extend this vocabulary, ranging from tightly rendered replicas to more schematic, nearly abstract forms. Some reproduce dissonant photographic imagery taken by the artist; others appropriate the bright, patterned novelty finishes available at hardware stores to distinguish one key from another; whereas another work, a silkscreen diptych, represents two keys yet to be cut into their final shape. The paintings recall distinct art-historical registers—from hard-edged geometric abstraction to loose, gestural markmaking, to the flattened logic of the readymade—each employing a different painterly language on the same recurring form.

A group of photographs by Thomas Ruff. Featuring images from jpegs ny, a subset of the artist’s larger jpegs series, the twelve works on view are derived from images of the World Trade Center attacks in New York on September 11, 2001. Coinciding with the twenty-fifth anniversary of the attacks, this exhibition was conceived by the artist as a commemoration of that day.

Opening Reception | KNOTTING, TYING, FOLDING: SOlo Sculpture Exhibition Embracing Vivid Color & Sensuous, Organic Surfaces
An exhibition of sculptures by Lynda Benglis. Alongside glazed ceramic, bronze, pleated, and paper works created by Benglis between 1972 and 2024, the presentation will also spotlight rarely exhibited glass sculptures from 1985. Since the late 1960s, Benglis has developed her lively, flowing forms across a wide range of materials—from beeswax, latex, and polyurethane foam to later innovations with plaster, gold, vaporized metals, glass, ceramics, and paper. Emerging amid the rise of Postminimalism, she set herself apart from her contemporaries with an enthusiastic embrace of vivid color and sensuous, organic surfaces. She has continuously pushed the boundaries of painting and sculpture over the course of her career, engaging in a radical investigation of sensorial perception. KNOTTING, TYING, FOLDING will feature a robust range of sculptures created by Benglis over more than five decades, illuminating her use of diverse methods and materials.

Opening Reception | Lo grabado de lo vivido (What is etched from what has been lived): Solo Monorpint Exhibition Exploring Land, Labor, & Identity
An exhibition of new works by Gamaliel Rodríguez. Conjuring vibrant images of his native Puerto Rico and the wider Caribbean, Rodríguez's new monoprints revisit themes central to his practice while exploring the expansive possibilities of printmaking at a new scale. Rendered across sweeping surfaces exceeding four feet, the works transform landscapes of the artist's homeland into meditations on the contested relationship between nature and the built environment. Rodríguez’s new body of work confronts the enduring tension between nature and industry across the postcolonial Caribbean and American landscapes. Rodríguez's electric chroma palette recalls the idyllic imagery of vintage travel postcards and tourist advertisements while subtly unsettling those familiar scenes. While appearing to be tropical scenes, the works on view are actually rooted in specific sites that register the climate implications of commercialized industrialization, including the Milwaukee War Museum, the ethanol power plant in Medina, New York, and the Cataño distillery in Puerto Rico. By anchoring the works in real destinations of commerce, production, and power, the artist renders the traceable weight of colonial history embedded in the landscape. Power appears both literally, through electrical infrastructure and industrial sites, and metaphorically through the systems that continue to shape land, labor, and identity across the Caribbean.

Opening Reception | Pastels: Solo Exhibition of Scenes from an Allegorical Universe
A showing of new works on paper by London-based artist Sara Anstis. For Pastels, Anstis expands an allegorical universe informed by the visual languages of mythology, folklore, and art history. Realized at a small scale, the nearly thirty works on view encourage close looking while contrasting with the expanse of the gallery architecture. Anstis works in soft, delicate pastels, retaining an intimate sense of touch that charges her scenes with introspective intensity. In Pastels, Anstis draws from a deepened engagement with art history. Architecture and interiors assume a more pronounced role, contrasting with Anstis' archetypal landscapes, and her compositional structures recall sources ranging from medieval traditions and the proto-Renaissance period to the Early Netherlandish masters.Themes of motherhood surface across the exhibition – treated with the same tenderness and strangeness that characterize Anstis' broader vision of daily life.

An exhibition by Scott Kahn focusing on the artist’s singular landscapes—a genre that is central to his practice. The exhibition will bring together a significant group of new and recent paintings alongside works spanning the previous twenty-five years that explore Kahn’s most enduring motifs. Over more than five decades, Kahn has maintained a commitment to a representational mode of expression, using a distinctive formal language to achieve a nuanced and poetic rendition of the simultaneous splendor and mundanity of the world around him. Rooted in his everyday life and experiences, Kahn’s enigmatic landscapes blend real and surreal elements. Many read as near facsimiles of lived experience shot through with electric color or ghostly shadows: billowing clouds that seem to come alive, ominous moonscapes, bare trees electrified by unexpected hues, and picture windows that open onto worlds both known and unknown. Seasons turn and day recedes into night, change often sweeping across a single canvas.

Opening Reception | Clocks: Solo Exhibition from Met-Featured Artist
New works on paper by London-based artist Pablo Bronstein. Clocks features a suite of imagined antique mantel clocks complete with allegorical elements, deepening Bronstein’s longstanding fascination with the history of aesthetics and bourgeois material culture. Extending as far as 6 feet wide, each work on view comprises an imaginary model for a clock. Drawing from vintage pattern books from his personal collection, Bronstein combines design elements from various styles and movements, creating original compositions that resist historical categorization. He draws inspiration from the mantel clocks that filled family homes across 18th-century Europe, filled with allegorical motifs and today recognized as material projections of human imagination. Bronstein presents these at large scale, as if to magnify designs ready to be manufactured. The works are united by this fixed format, inviting the suggestion that the elements could be swapped in limitless variations.

Dance Performance | Curriculum IV: Spin and Spin! Turn! Turn! Turn! -- Dance Meditation on Loss from 2X Tony Winning Choreographer
The world premiere of a new work from National Medal of the Arts and Kennedy Center Honoree, Bill T. Jones, a show that was originally scheduled to premiere on September 12, 2001 on the plaza of the Twin Towers. This new work, with original music from composer Samora Pinderhughes, commemorates the 25th anniversary of that suspended moment—and all that has unfolded since. Jones, in collaboration with Pinderhughes, forge an intergenerational bridge as both artists search within themselves and their respective creative interests to meditate on loss, and their distinct responses to the 25-year aftermath of 9/11 and other cataclysms spiralling into our era of loss of freedom, speech, movement, and justice. Featuring performances from Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company and live musicians, Spin and Spin! Turn! Turn! Turn! brings dance back to Lower Manhattan, shaped by resilience and the passage of time.
