City Walk | Battery Park City Tour: The Business Core


The second of the Skyscraper Museum's three thematic walking tours of Battery Park City covers the middle zone of the commercial core with its 1980s skyscrapers of the original World Financial Center (now Brookfield Place) by architect Cesar Pelli, as well as the expansive North Cove Marina and its public realm. This walk investigates how the planning concept of public-private partnership was both the principle and economic engine of the Battery Park City project. It will consider how the office and retail precinct connects to lower Manhattan and the World Trade Center and how the goal of opening the waterfront to public access and recreation was realized over three decades. Tour duration is around 60 minutes.

Tour | Mexico: The Pyramid of Cholula (virtual, live stream)


Cholula is a city that has been inhabited since pre-Hispanic times, according to archaeological evidence dating back 3000 years. Starting from what is now known as the center of San Pedro Cholula, you will explore a small part of the city that has been occupied for millennia and you will walk around the Tlachihualtepetl (handmade hill) which is the largest pyramid in the world in volume. You will be able to observe the magnitude of the pyramid as well as some vestiges of ancient buildings.

Workshop | Fitness on the Waterfront


Your one-stop-shop for a complete body and mind workout. Barre seamlessly blends moves from ballet, Pilates, strength training, and yoga. You will be guided through a series of micro-movements and active holds, using your body weight for resistance. These small, isolated movements yield extensive results: long, lean, sculpted lines. You'll work muscles you didn't even know you have and feel them for days after. What to bring/wear: Yoga or Pilates mat, water and hand towel. Wear comfortable workout clothes - pants, leggings, or capris, and a workout tank or t-shirt. Grip socks optional, bare feet welcome.
