Another example of an event that you can attend all year round on weekdays is Federal Reserve Bank Tour, which takes place every week day at 1 pm (but advanced reservations are required). You can take at least 13 free tours every day of the year, except the New Year Day, July 4th, and the Christmas Day. If you are classical music afficionado, you can spend whole day in New York going from one free classical concert to another. If you love theater, then New York gives you an option to attend plays and musicals free of charge, or at deep discount. You just need to have information about it. Jazz | Piano in the Park: Internationally Acclaimed Jazz Musician


Come on down and swing along to the best ragtime, stride, and jazz the Big Apple has to offer. "Taste, style, charm, singing, playing - as good as it gets!" - Michael Feinstein Daryl Sherman has been an integral part of the NYC jazz/cabaret scene since the mid-70s- and is one of the rare singing pianists equally talented in both roles. From early stints at Sinatra jazz hang-outs, Daryl also played most of the major NY hotels and became internationally acclaimed for a stellar 14-year run at the Waldorf-Astoria, where she played Cole Porter's Steinway. Her versatility has kept her busy performing and recording with artists such as Wynton Marsalis, Artie Shaw, and Vince Giordano and The Nighthawks. Her newest release, Lost In A Crowded Place, highlights songs by Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Duke Ellington, as well as two Sherman originals.

Dancing | Swing Dancing with Live Music from Cait Jones


Jazz vocalist and swing dancer Cait Jones has captivated audiences worldwide with her "lovely voice, dead-on pitch, and subtle swing," (Jazz Lives, Michael Steinman). For this concerrt, Jones will be fronting her septet, with the musical direction of trombonist and bandleader, Mariel Bildsten. This will be the stateside premiere of some of Jones' original music written with French composer Mathieu Najean from the pair's first collaborative album, Outta the Blue with You (2023), a repertoire inspired by the great masters: Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, and Count Basie. The septet will also feature original arrangements of swing hits. Arrive early for a beginner's swing lesson to pick up a few of the basic steps before the live music begins! Special guest Concrete Husband throws a party in the park. Concrete Husband is a New York City-based producer, DJ, composer, and flutist. He’s released two dance records to critical acclaim, with Document hailing him as “redefining avant-garde composition.” Trained as a classical flutist and composer at the New England Conservatory of Music, Concrete Husband draws on a comprehensive knowledge of musical history to create sonic narratives that shimmer with emotional resonance and surrealist imagination. His DJ sets weave grooves of hypnotic techno to generate moments of psychedelic mania and sensual release. Concrete Husband moved to Brooklyn in 2021, becoming a fixture on lineups at raves and clubs like Basement, Merge, Knockdown Center, Zero Chill, and Bossa Nova. As a composer and performer, his scope of influence is boundless. Recent highlights include scoring Dion Lee’s 2024 Shanghai Fashion Week presentation, performing for Michèle Lamy and Erykah Badu’s Pre-Met Gala Dinner and the Munch Museum’s event at Milan Fashion Week, and creating flute music for Ari Aster’s 2023 film, Beau is Afraid (A24).  Seating opens 30 minutes before showtime and is available on the grass or benches.
