Jazz | Outdoor Music with GRAMMY-Nominated Artists


Enjoy music from Marcus Gilmore: Journey to the New, featuring Marcus Gilmore, drums, Emmanuel Michael, guitar, and Rashaan Carter, bass. Marcus Gilmore is a multi Grammy Award-winning drummer/composer. In 2020, he performed his first orchestral composition titled “Pulse” with members of the Cape Town Philharmonic as part of the 2018 - 2019 Annual Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative. Emmanuel Michael is a New York City-based jazz guitarist and composer. Known for his emotional depth, rhythmic nuance, and harmonic sophistication, Emmanuel has performed at prestigious venues such as the Village Vanguard, Dizzy’s Club, and The Jazz Gallery. A member of ensembles led by Ambrose Akinmusire, Dayna Stephens, and Aaron Parks, he is also the 2024 Jazz Gallery Residency Commission recipient.He has toured internationally, recorded widely, and collaborated with artists including Billy Drummond, Harish Raghavan, and Immanuel Wilkins. Rashaan Carter is a New York–based bassist known for his deep musicality, versatility, and innovative approach to jazz and improvised music. Over the course of his career, he has become a sought-after collaborator, performing and recording with legends such as Wallace Roney, Geri Allen, Ravi Coltrane, Cindy Blackman, Henry Threadgill, and David Murray. His work spans jazz, experimental, and genre-blending projects, showcasing a sound that is both grounded and forward-thinking. Known for his melodic sensitivity and rhythmic depth, Rashaan brings emotional weight and clarity to every performance.
