Other | Pumpkin Smash in a Park: Family Fun! (in-person)


Bring your jack-o-lantern or un-carved pumpkins and crush, smash and smush them into compost to help keep the park beautiful, green and growing. One free ticket is for one household, of up to five people. Groups are asked to bring their own pumpkins, as well as safety goggles.

Two Imperial Guards watch from their post as the sun rises for the first time on the newly-completed Taj Mahal -- an event that shakes their worlds. When they are ordered to perform an unthinkable task, the aftermath forces them to question the concept of friendship, beauty and duty, and changes them. Guards at the Taj had its world premiere with Atlantic Theater Company during 2014|2015 season. It won 3 Obie Awards and 4 Lortel Awards, including "Best New American Play" and "Outstanding Play!"

Festival | Diwali Festival: Learn About Indian Culture and Celebrate The Festival of Lights (virtual)


The celebration mixes live and pre-recorded content and opens with footage of a home traditionally decorated for Diwali and an explanation of the holiday and traditional foods. The Festival will feature: - An Indian cuisine demonstration led by Nupur Arora, owner of Queens Curry Kitchen. Learn how to make authentic Indian dishes with ingredients that you can find at your local grocer. - A dance class led by Master Indian dancer Abha B. Roy and the Srijan Dance Center. Move the furniture and get ready to move and learn traditional, folk and Bollywood dance moves. - A dance piece by Rutgers Tamasha blending traditional and contemporary dance forms. Choreographed by Bhaavi Patel and Aarushi Bhardwaj. - End the night with a Bhangra dance party, spun by DJ Rekha!
