Musical | Dia De Los Muertos: A Night with the Dead, Fantasy-Comedy with Folk Songs and Dances (virtual)

A Night with the Dead is a story about the origins of the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos and how one girl's drive can change the course of an afterlife. The play follows Catrina, a Mexican girl who, in the aftermath of her grandmother's death, will go on a journey to question tradition and discover what happens after we die. Catrina believes that her grandmother Elsa would not want her death to be mourned. However, in this world celebrating in any way during the mourning period is considered untraditional and disrespectful. Her Mom and her friend Peter tell her she should not talk about death or invoke the spirit of death. In her search to discover what happened to Elsa, Catrina enters the Land of the Dead by trusting the spirit, Thanatos... In English with folk songs in Spanish. For ages 18+. Talk-back with the creative team will follow.

Opera | Met Opera: Handel's Rodelinda (virtual)

Renee Fleming stars in the title role of one of Handel's greatest dramas, seen in Stephen Wadsworth's 2004 Met premiere production. Rodelinda is faced with an impossible dilemma: With her husband Bertarido believed dead, she either has to marry the despised Grimoaldo (the elegant Joseph Kaiser), who has usurped her husband's throne, or see him murder her son. But Bertarido (leading countertenor Andreas Scholl) is alive and eventually reclaims both throne and wife--and makes peace with his enemies. Stephanie Blythe is marvelous as Eduige, Bertarido's sister, who is betrothed to Grimoaldo but turns against him. Baroque authority Harry Bicket conducts.
