Another example of an event that you can attend all year round on weekdays is Federal Reserve Bank Tour, which takes place every week day at 1 pm (but advanced reservations are required). You can take at least 13 free tours every day of the year, except the New Year Day, July 4th, and the Christmas Day. If you are classical music afficionado, you can spend whole day in New York going from one free classical concert to another. If you love theater, then New York gives you an option to attend plays and musicals free of charge, or at deep discount. You just need to have information about it. Simply just smashing stuff that's a tonic for recidivist ears that want to hear it old school, played perfectly.” - Midwest Jazz Record A swingin’ pianist rooted in the bebop tradition, Marc Devine has become a mainstay of the New York jazz scene, performing regularly with his own bands and as a sideman working with musicians such as Fukushi Tainaka, Hide Tanaka, Bill Crow, Jackie Williams, Jerry Weldon and many others. Devine recently released recordings of his NYC trios, Inspiration, which climbed to number 34 on the JazzWeek radio charts.

This lesson's focus is Socks and Knits. Learn how to darn holes and reinforce threadbare areas in knitwear using visible mending. The group will look at hand-held mini looms and other tools and household items that can assist in the art of repair. Organizers will provide: needle, thread, fabric, tools, case-by-case guidance, technique instruction, books, and other inspiration.

Soprano Sonya Yoncheva and tenor Vittorio Grigolo star in this filmed production of Giacomo Puccini’s Tosca, conducted by Francesco Ivan Ciampa and directed by Hugo de Ana. Set in Rome during the Napoleonic Wars, the opera unfolds as a gripping tragedy of love, power, and political turmoil.   Filmed at Italy’s Arena di Verona, the production highlights the opera’s dramatic intensity and grand scale, with additional performances by Roman Burdenko and Giorgi Manoshvili.   Program Giacomo Puccini (1858–1924) Tosca

Celebrating America's 250th anniversary, enjoy a program featuring the Great American Songbook, recognizing the songs, old and new, that reflect the unique American experience—and whose melodies and lyrics continue to resonate as part of American history. Organizers welcome a variety of seasoned cabaret performers to perform some of the most memorable and singable tunes that embody America. The event will highlight the history of the American Songbook, and will also feature Carolyn Montgomery, Executive Director of the American Songbook Association, as an integral part of the evening. Because these songs all require collaboration, itself an American ideal—think of the Founding Fathers & Mothers­—organizers also welcome to the stage tonight Jon Weber, as Musical Director (he is the longtime host of Piano Jazz on NPR).

This recital from the Metropolitan Opera showcases performances from Emily Pogorelc, a dynamic American soprano who made her house debuts at the Vienna State Opera, Opernhaus Zurich, and Dutch National Opera; Joshua Blue, a British American tenor who most recently appeared in Mozart's Requiem at the Hollywood Bowl and in the Met's revival of The Magic Flute; American baritone Edward Nelson, who starred in the Opening Night production of The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay and made recent debuts at Houston Grand Opera and in Baden-Baden, A Coruna, and Liege; and pianist Dimitri Dover, who has been on the music staff at the Met since 2016.
