Coming from a wide variety of cultural perspectives and backgrounds, the music will come alive through sing-alongs, simple movement, rhythms, and visual art to connect with the music. In this colorful and varied family program, Brooklyn Rider takes audiences of all ages on a multi-sensory, participatory journey inside the world of a string quartet. Mexican-born jazz singer and long-time collaborator Magos Herrera joins Brooklyn Rider with music that celebrates the Latin American songbook. Special guest, soprano Ariadne Greif, leads the audience in exploring the zany world of painter Wassily Kandinsky's Sounds—dada-like poems with accompanying woodcut prints that Brooklyn Rider violinist and composer Colin Jacobsen has turned into songs. Finally, the natural world comes to life through musical depictions of the 4 Elements of antiquity: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. There are two ways to access this event: 1. General Admission, first-come first-served. Just show up! 2. Fast Track opening the Monday before the event at noon.
