In a career spanning more than five decades, he received numerous accolades, including an Honorary Academy Award in 2019. Jazz | Outdoor Piano Music with Grammey-Winning Latin Twist


Arturo O'Farrill is a pianist, composer, and educator,whose professional career began with the Carla Bley Band and continued as a solo performer with a wide spectrum of artists including Dizzy Gillespie, Lester Bowie, Wynton Marsalis, and Harry Belafonte. In 2007, he founded the Afro Latin Jazz Alliance as a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the performance, education, and preservation of Afro Latin music. Arturo has performed with orchestras and bands including his own Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra and Arturo O’Farrill Sextet, as well as other Orchestras and intimate ensembles in the US, Europe, Russia, Australia, and South America. Arturo has received commissions from Meet the Composer, Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Philadelphia Music Project, The Apollo Theater, Symphony Space, the Bronx Museum of the Arts, the Young Peoples Chorus of New York, Columbia University and the New York State Council on the Arts. Arturo’s well-reviewed and highly praised “Afro-Latin Jazz Suite” from the album CUBA: The Conversation Continues (Motéma) took the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Composition and the 2016 Latin Grammy Award for Best Latin Jazz Album. His powerful “Three Revolutions” from the album Familia-Tribute to Chico and Bebo was the 2018 Grammy Award (his sixth) winner for Best Instrumental Composition.

During a human expedition to colonize space, Mickey 17, a so-called "expendable" employee, is sent to explore an ice planet. Director: Bong Joon Ho Cast: Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo Bong Joon Ho is a South Korean filmmaker whose work is characterized by emphasis on social and class themes, genre-mixing, dark comedy, and sudden tone shifts. The recipient of numerous accolades, Bong has won three Academy Awards, two British Academy Film Awards, and five Asian Film Awards. In 2017, he was included on Metacritic's list of the 25 best film directors of the 21st century, and in 2020, he was listed as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time and among the Bloomberg 50. Two of his films have screened in competition at the Cannes Film Festival—Okja in 2017 and Parasite in 2019; the latter earned the Palme d'Or, which was a first for a South Korean film. Bong won Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay, making Parasite the first non-English language film to win Best Picture. Robert Pattinson is an English actor whose filmography often sees him portraying eccentric characters across a diverse range of genres. Known for starring in both major studio productions and independent films, Pattinson's works have grossed over $4.7 billion worldwide. In 2010, Time included him in its list of the 100 most influential people in the world, and he was also featured in the Forbes Celebrity 100. Pattinson achieved global recognition as Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga film series. Pattinson subsequently began working in independent films from auteur directors. He was praised for his performances in David Cronenberg's drama Cosmopolis (2012), James Gray's adventure drama The Lost City of Z (2016), the Safdie brothers' crime drama Good Time (2017), Claire Denis's science fiction drama High Life (2018) and Robert Eggers' psychological horror The Lighthouse (2019). Pattinson then returned to big-budget mainstream cinema, starring as a spy handler in Christopher Nolan's thriller Tenet (2020), portraying the titular superhero in Matt Reeves's superhero film The Batman (2022).

A bizarre and bewitching trip down the rabbit hole. After skirting the horrors of a mysterious war being waged in the countryside, beautiful young Lily takes refuge in a remote farmhouse, where she becomes embroiled in the surreal domestic life of an extremely unconventional family. Director: Louis Malle Cast: Cathryn Harrison, Therese Giehse, Joe Dallesandro, Alexandra Stewart Louis Marie Malle was a French film director, screenwriter, and producer who worked in both French cinema and Hollywood. Described as "eclectic" and "a filmmaker difficult to pin down", Malle made documentaries, romances, period dramas, and thrillers. He often depicted provocative or controversial subject matter. His most famous works include the crime thriller Elevator to the Gallows (1958), the romantic drama The Lovers (1958), the World War II drama Lacombe, Lucien (1974), the period drama Pretty Baby (1978), the romantic crime film Atlantic City (1980), the dramedy My Dinner with Andre (1981), and the autobiographical Au revoir les enfants (1987). He also co-directed the landmark underwater documentary The Silent World with Jacques Cousteau, which won the 1956 Palme d'Or and the 1957 Academy Award for Best Documentary. Malle is one of only four directors to have won the Golden Lion twice. His other accolades include three Cesar Awards, two BAFTAs, and three Oscar nominations. He was made a Fellow of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in 1991.

Jazz | Award-Winning Trumpeter Performs Music from Critically Acclaimed Debut Album


Enjoy music from a 2020 recipient of Lincoln Center's Emerging Artist Award for his work as "an original bandleader, composer, arranger, and educator," trumpeter Riley Mulherkar. He shares an evening of jazz and improvised music from his critically acclaimed debut album Riley, hailed as "one of the best debut records to come out in a long, long time" (DownBeat). The innovative artist is best known as a founding member of The Westerlies, a New York-based brass quartet of West Coast expats who play a mix of jazz, modern classical, and folk compositions, high on tunefulness that will have you tapping your toes. There are two ways to access this event: 1. General Admission, first-come first-served. Just show up! 2. Fast Track opening the Monday before the event at noon.

Opera | American Bluegrass Take on Tchakovsky's Opera: Eugene Onegin


New York City's first listen to a new bluegrass take on Tchaikovsky's classic opera, based on the novel in verse by Pushkin, a great Russian poet. Sarah Gancher retells one of the great romances in a new form, perfect for a tragic love story: the country song. The Russian classic is transplanted to the American South, where it's told by bluegrass musicians in a rowdy picking circle. Book, Music, and Lyrics by Sarah Gancher, Directed by Rachel Chavkin - Cast to be announced. Seating opens 30 minutes before showtime and is available on the grass or benches. Accessible seating is available. Please inform staff upon arrival if accommodations are needed.
