One of the oldest free weekly events in Manhattan is Dixieland Jazz with the Gotham Jazzmen, which happen at noon every Tuesday. Another example of an event that you can attend all year round on weekdays is Federal Reserve Bank Tour, which takes place every week day at 1 pm (but advanced reservations are required). You can take at least 13 free tours every day of the year, except the New Year Day, July 4th, and the Christmas Day. If you are classical music afficionado, you can spend whole day in New York going from one free classical concert to another. If you love theater, then New York gives you an option to attend plays and musicals free of charge, or at deep discount. You just need to have information about it. A dance meditation on the relationship between aesthetics and ideology. Choreographer luciana achugar revisits the work in a site-based context. Originally co-commissioned by Abrons Arts Center and The Chocolate Factory, and premiering in May 2012, the work presents dance as a celebration of experience, and pleasure as the consummation of experience. In Feel...Form, four women engage in a psychedelia-inspired kaleidoscope that multiplies their experience and reflects both rigorous formalism and corporeal excess.

Renowned Mexican visual artist Erika Harrsch and acclaimed composer Julian Wachner are creating a live kite/music installation in which banknotes shaped as butterflies will circulate in patterns that represent a vital connective system. Specimen-banknotes of currencies from many countries are created into kites to mimic the delicate beauty of butterflies in migratory flight, reflecting the transformative power of global mobility, and the volatility of currency markets.

Calling all Adults who want to lose or maintain current weight: Join Wii Fit for Adults and benefit from burning calories, socializing, maintaining current weight and/or tracking your BMI. Use the various workouts including yoga, strength training, boxing, stepping, hula hooping, running, and regaining balance through using the balance exercises. In an atmosphere of sensuality and playfulness they will dance with the magic of true feminine energy through the gorgeous movements of belly dance. This panel discussion featuring DSGN AGNC will revolve explore the question of what it means to be critical and activist in the context of design/art/architecture/urban practices. As more practices begin to engage social and environmental issues the question remains as to how to effectively work within the fragmented, decentralized and often weakened fiscal and political structures that characterize the neo-liberal city. The panel will discuss what the role of the designer is this context, how to fully engage in political processes rather than accept short-sighted solutions and how to avoid being part of a system by which large companies hide their responsibility with token investments on 'green' and 'humanitarian' projects.

Electric Midwife is choreographer Beth Gill’s most recent work. Premiering in 2011, it received multiple Bessie awards, and continues to be performed both nationally and internationally. Conceived from a fusion of concept and form, Electric Midwife is a performance of symmetry, in which six women form two trios that mirror each other’s movements with a kind of hyper-precision. The dancers’ actions create an intricately patterned tapestry in which the lines of their bodies trace the space and outline the two corridors within which they encompass.
