Everyone wants to start off the new year with a clean slate, right? That’s what the 4th Annual Good Riddance Day is all about. A giant Cintas shredder, plus a dumpster and sledge hammer, will be set up to help you discard any distasteful, embarrassing and downright depressing memories from 2010. Cast members of Green Day's Broadway musical American Idiot will be on hand to bid farewell to their own bad memories in 2010. The most creative entry presented in person at the event will be awarded tickets to American Idiot, a backstage tour and a merchandise package for two.

Slide Lecture | Mark Twain: A Skeptic's Progress


With Isaac M. Gewirtz. This illustrated talk will explore the content and extent of the skeptical Twain’s faith in the idea of progress, and why he lost that faith. The texts of manuscript pages from Life on the Mississippi (1885), A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court (1889), and Following the Equator (1897), which were omitted from the published books, will be presented and analyzed to illustrate this theme.
