Jazz | New Orleans-Inspired Jazz with Unmistakable Swing

The youngest son of piano and jazz luminary Ellis Marsalis, Jr., Jason Marsalis carries forward one of jazz's most extraordinary family legacies. Equally acclaimed as both a drummer and vibraphonist, Jason brings his deep musicality and unmistakable swing to a heartfelt celebration of his father's music, alongside the works of James Black, Alvin Batiste, and Harold Battiste. Joined by his quartet, he honors the elegant compositions and New Orleans spirit of these composers--music that profoundly shaped his brother Wynton Marsalis and the family's approach to jazz. This performance offers a rare opportunity to hear this rich musical lineage brought to life by an artist who grew up inside its sound. There are two ways to access this event: 1. General Admission, first-come first-served. Just show up! 2. Fast Track opening the Monday before the event at noon for all.

Concert | Patti LaBelle and The Bluebelles-Inspired Rock Opera

This is a celebration of the metamorphosis of a '60s cookie-cutter girl group known as Patti LaBelle and The Bluebelles into Afrofuturist rock, funk, R&B, and gospel sirens. The Nightbirds concert features their original songs woven into the currently-in-development rock opera, inspired by the legendary trio and written by Nona Hendryx and double Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage.
