How might The Twilight Zone (CBS, 1959-1964) and its creator Rod Serling afford us an opportunity to rethink the operations of mid-twentieth century U.S. racial liberalism? This talk argues that Serling’s infamous use of allegory and the supernatural in his series produced a distinctive and different type of anti-racist work that challenged the realism that marked other forms of advocacy like the television documentary. Workshop | Intro Class: Meditation and the Alexander Technique

Mindfulness practices can free us from habitual patterns of tension, and bring a deeper alignment with life. The Alexander Technique, when applied to meditation, is a simple yet powerful tool for cultivating mindfulness of the body, bringing awareness to habitual tension, and relaxing our goal-oriented approach to life. This class offers practical guidance and instruction on both sitting and walking meditation. With: Hope Martin
