Festival | Creativity, Community, & Arts Day (Circus, Community Choir, Vocal & Dance Workshops, VR Experience, & More)
Enjoy a campus-wide weekend of creativity, community, and exhilarating performances for families and audiences of all ages. The schedule includes: family-friendly theater storytimes; a mobile, gravity-defying outdoor circus, Cirque Kikasse; a Come & Sing participatory community choir curated and led by Jeanine Tesori; an operatic storytelling workshop with The Metropolitan Opera; dance workshops from School of American Ballet and New York City Ballet; an Instrument Petting Zoo with Chamber Music Society; an immersive VR experience, Collective Body; costume and puppet making; a puppet parade with IBEX Puppetry; and so much more! All are encouraged to come in costumes to celebrate the festivities. This event is General Admission, first-come first-served. Drop-in throughout the day and stay as long as you'd like! Workshop | Rowing Along the New York City Skyline
Open to all and led by experienced coxswains, these outings take place in stable, traditional Whitehall gigs, offering a hands-on introduction to rowing, teamwork, and river navigation. Sessions include orientation and group rowing excursions lasting 1-3 hours. Participants assist with launching and cleaning the boats. Bring water and sunscreen. Life jackets are provided; a waiver is required for participation.

Poetry Reading | National Book Award Winning Poet Martin Espada Discusses the Craft
Learn about American Book Award, PEN/Revson Fellowship, and Paterson Poetry Prize winning poet Martin Espada's writing journey and craft. Martin Espada is the author of more than twenty books as a poet, editor, essayist, and translator. Espada published his first poetry collection, The Immigrant Iceboy's Bolero, in 1982. Among his other books of poetry are Floaters (which received the National Book Award in Poetry in 2021), The Trouble Ball (recipient of the Milt Kessler Award, a Massachusetts Book Award, and an International Latino Book Award), The Republic of Poetry (finalist for the Pulitzer Prize), Imagine the Angels of Bread (winner of an American Book Award and a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award), and other collections. Espada is the recipient of a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship, an Independent Publisher Book Award, an International Latino Book Award, two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships, and more. In 2018, he received the Academy of American Poets Fellowship, which recognizes distinguished poetic achievement.
