Dance Performance | Characters, Voice, & Dance Emerging from the Sacred Circle

An evening of sharing dance and theater works by Omri Drumlevich. A group of collaborating artists lead an evening where characters, voices, and dance emerge from and return to one of humanity’s most ancient forms of sharing stories, prayers, and movement: the sacred circle. Drumlevich’s work explores the complexities of human nature through theological, philosophical, and ethical questions. Drawing inspiration from mythology, cosmology, life on stage, and the enchanting power of movement, patterns, and ritual, his work brings together the cosmic and the earthly, the human and the fantastic, the personal and the universal, the private and the public, the abstract and the contextual. Throughout the evening, audiences will be invited into a shared space of curiosity and reflection, including an open conversation with the performing artists — an opportunity to ask questions, exchange thoughts, and explore the work together.

Play | Witch: Darkly Comic Contemporary Retelling of a Jacobean Drama

A charming devil arrives in the quiet village of Edmonton to bargain for the souls of its residents in exchange for their darkest wishes. Elizabeth should be his easiest target, having been labeled a "witch" and cast out by the town, but her soul is not so readily bought. As the devil returns to convince her - and then returns again - unexpected passions flare, alliances are formed, and the village is forever changed. An inventive retelling of a Jacobean drama, this sharp, subversive fable debates how much our souls are wroth when hope is hard to come by. Written by Jen Silverman. Directed by Daniella Caggiano.
