Workshop | Deep Yoga and Journaling

Sharyn Hahn lead you through some warm-up poses and a vinyasa flow as well as several short meditations, creative visualization, and intention-setting writing or sketching activities. You will leave feeling more flexible, relaxed, energized, with a mantra that you can carry with you throughout the week. Please bring a yoga mat if you have one, and they do have some if you need to borrow one for the class. Also bring a journal and something to write with. You will be writing a few times during the class, and if you prefer to sketch or want to do both, that is fine. Wear comfortable clothing, and feel free to bring a warm or cool drink to keep you hydrated (with a secure lid). All levels are welcome. If you have never done yoga you will be able to participate as well.

Tour | Brooklyn Heights Tour

Known as America's first suburb, Brooklyn Heights is truly a gem. Travel and Leisure named it one of America's top 10 most beautiful neighborhoods, and its beauty is rivaled only by its place in American history. These quaint, tree-lined streets have been the sites of Revolutionary War battles, abolitionist activism and have inspired numerous novelists. Visit a stop on the Underground Railroad, or the home of Truman Capote, where he penned Breakfast at Tiffany's and where Jackie Robinson signed with the Dodgers.

Performance | Breaking Ice: The Battle of the Carmens: A New Vocal Work Featuring Ice Theatre of New York

The twenty-minute piece is performed. The work draws on inspiration from Moran’s childhood as a figure skater, notions of cultural competition, and the historic 1988 Winter Olympics, when two leading figure skaters independently chose to skate to Bizet’s Carmen. Moran sings from center-ice as the public skates around her. The performance can be heard on ice as well as on the Deck surrounding the Rink. In order to be on the ice during the performance, please arrive at least twenty minutes before the event begins.
