Museums | Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is Now Open!

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpiece of modern architecture, hosts a continuously expanding collection of world-renowned works and features special exhibitions throughout the year. The museum was established in 1939 as the Museum of Non-Objective Painting. It adopted its current name after the death of its founder Solomon R. Guggenheim in 1952. In 1959, it moved to its current landmark cylindrical building, wider at the top than at the bottom, conceived as a "temple of the spirit". Its unique ramp gallery extends up from ground level in a long, continuous spiral along the outer edges of the building to end just under the ceiling skylight. All visitors will need to reserve a timed ticket online in advance. Plan your visit and learn more about safety protocol at https://gu.gg/2IAc2za.
