Museums | Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is Now Open!

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpiece of modern architecture, hosts a continuously expanding collection of world-renowned works and features special exhibitions throughout the year. The museum was established in 1939 as the Museum of Non-Objective Painting. It adopted its current name after the death of its founder Solomon R. Guggenheim in 1952. In 1959, it moved to its current landmark cylindrical building, wider at the top than at the bottom, conceived as a "temple of the spirit". Its unique ramp gallery extends up from ground level in a long, continuous spiral along the outer edges of the building to end just under the ceiling skylight. All visitors will need to reserve a timed ticket online in advance. Plan your visit and learn more about safety protocol at https://gu.gg/2IAc2za.

Theater | Eurostar: A Roadmovie as a Chamber Play, tragicomedy with Stefan Zweig and Joseph Roth (virtual)

Authors Stefan Zweig (1881 - 1942) and Joseph Roth (1894 - 1939) return as ghosts to the Europe of 2020. They accompany a literary scholar and her trainee during a research trip on a train journey from Vienna to London. Between tragedy and comedy, their attempts oscillate to position themselves on current developments in Europe. This causes affection and rejection, from which changing alliances and unbridgeable differences emerge. Everything is in a state of change: Europe through which they travel, the relationships they have with each other, and their self-reference. Written by Ursula Knoll and Barbara Kadletz Directed by Stephanie Schmiderer

Concert | Wild Symphony: Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra at The Stunning Croatian National Theater (live-streamed, virtual)

Dan Brown, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Da Vinci Code, has a new credential on his already-singular resume: composer of the orchestral music from Wild Symphony, his new illustrated children's book. Wild Symphony, Brown's first work for orchestra, features twenty-one musical portraits drawn from the animal kingdom. From the joyous rhythms of "Bouncing Kangaroo" to the mysterious melodies of "Wondrous Whale" to the hair-raising harmonies of "Brilliant Bat," Wild Symphony is a very wild symphony indeed. Performed live by the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Miran Vaupotic. The performance will be accompanied by the book's beautiful artwork and poetry read by Dan Brown.
