Concert | Sebastian Yatra Performs LIVE Outdoors
Latin pop artist and Broadway star Sebastian Yatra performs his hits. Yatra achieved breakout success with "Traicionera" followed by "Robarte un Beso" featuring Carlos Vives. "Traicionera" served as the lead single for his 2018 debut album, Mantra, which also featured the single "Sutra", featuring Puerto Rican rapper Dalmata. He received continued success collaborating with Daddy Yankee, Natti Natasha, and the Jonas Brothers on the bilingual single "Runaway". In 2024, Yatra made his Broadway debut as Billy Flynn in the musical Chicago. Fans on the General Admission line will be admitted if space permits. It's advised to arrive early to join the line. Generally, concerts happen rain or shine. Check-in for those with fan passes is at 5:15 am. Start time is approximate.

Concert | Piano in the Park: Lively Swing Music with Kennedy Center Musician
A five, six, seven, eight... Come on down and swing along to the best ragtime, stride, and jazz the Big Apple has to offer. The park is pleased to present a performance by Isaac ben Ayala. Isaac ben Ayala has performed and recorded with many notable bands and greats, from Quincy Jones, Ray Charles, Louis and Bellson, to the New York City Ballet and The Sultans of Swing. He has scored numerous films and can be heard on the piano in Block Party, Evening, "The Mark Twain Prize for American Humor Honors - Carol Burnett", and more. His orchestral arrangement, Basin Street Blues, premiered at The Kennedy Center with The National Pops Orchestra and is currently being performed by orchestras around the world.

Movie in a Park | Identity, Migration, and Memory: Three Short Documentaries Exploring American Chinatowns
Luka Yuanyuan Yang is a visual artist and filmmaker whose practice, characterized by interwoven documentary and archival materials, addresses themes of identity, migration, and memory, challenging conventional historical narratives and amplifying overlooked voices. During a year-long research trip across the US in 2018, Yang was captivated by the rich history of migration and adaptation in America's Chinatowns. From 1882 until the 1950s, due to the Chinese Exclusion Act and racial discrimination, Chinese Americans were largely confined to Chinatowns. During this same period, Yang began researching the stories of Chinese women in 20th-century American performing arts, inspired by the legacy of Anna May Wong and seeking to uncover the experiences of other Chinese women performers whose stories have been forgotten or misunderstood by history. Yang's exploration of these neighborhoods, the Chinese diaspora, and performing artists has become the central focus of her short films and feature film Chinatown Cha-Cha, and her recently published artist book Dance in Herland. In a time of rising threats to America's Chinatowns, the artist brings generations together through film, dance, and dialogue. For this screening, Yang presents Tales of Chinatown, an exhibition of three of her short films: Cantonese Tunes on Mott Street (2022), The Lady From Shanghai (2019), and Tales of Chinatown (2019). By following her protagonists on the streets, through their communities, and into their homes, Yang amplifies the voices of those often denied the chance to share their own stories--individuals who have been forgotten, silenced, or misinterpreted.

Opera | Betrayal and Passion in Handel's Radamisto (1720)
It was first performed at the King's Theatre, London on 27 April 1720, a performance attended by King George I and his son, the Prince of Wales. Radamisto went unperformed for many years, but with the revival of interest in Baroque music and historically informed musical performance since the 1960s, Radamisto, like all Handel operas, receives performances at festivals and opera houses today.

Born in Bulgaria and based in the U.S. since her teens, Gueorguieva creates tactile, large-scale mixed-media paintings that blend abstraction with mythological and geographic undertones. Her richly layered surfaces evoke maps, petroglyphs, architecture, and atmospheric forces, punctuated by fleeting, symbolic figures. These "moments of legibility" invite personal interpretation and reflect the artist's deep engagement with storytelling, spirituality, and place.

Lecture | Learn about Victorian-Era Photography
Explore images and themes in the exhibition Arresting Beauty: Julia Margaret Cameron with Assistant Curator of Photography, Allison Pappas. Cameron (1815–1879) was born in Calcutta to a French mother and an English father; in 1848, with her husband and children, she moved to England. Residing on the Isle of Wight, where she was close neighbors with the poet Alfred Tennyson, Cameron acquired her first camera at age 48. In only eleven years she would create thousands of exposures and leave an enduring image of the Victorian era as an age of intellectual and spiritual ambition. Seating is available on a first come, first served basis. Julia Margaret Cameron: Arresting Beauty will be open to visitors before the lecture starting at 5 pm and after the lecture until 8 pm.

The tragedy of Julius Casar is a history play and tragedy. It's about Brutus joining the conspiracy led by Cassius to assassinate Julius Caesar, to prevent him from becoming a tyrant. Caesar's right-hand man Antony stirs up hostility against the conspirators and Rome becomes embroiled in a dramatic civil war. Cushions will be provided to sit on the stairs of the monument. There is very limited room if you bring your own chair. Please arrive no later than 6:20pm. There will be no late seating.

A joyful concert reimagining of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The Sound of Music through a utopian, afrofuturistic lens. The Sound of (Black) Music is a dynamic and groundbreaking production that reimagines one of America's most beloved musical classics through a joyful, Afro-futuristic lens. The electrifying score, featuring elements of jazz, soul, funk, and afro-grooves, celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Black music and its impact on American popular culture. The show stars a spirited band of leading performers, including celebrated vocalists Brianna Thomas, C. Anthony Bryant, Vanisha Gould, Zhanna Reed and musical director Charenee Wade. This production reclaims the legacy of Black music and its central role in shaping American culture. This groundbreaking production was listed among the Best New Theater of 2021 by The New York Times. Organizers lend out hundreds of free blankets on a first-come, first-served basis, or bring your own cotton or fleece blanket. There will also be pre-set chairs, or you may bring your own. To protect the lawn, please do not sit on waterproof materials such as plastic tarps, yoga mats, or inflatable chairs. Bring your own picnic or purchase food and drinks from tents on the side of the lawn.
