One of the oldest free weekly events in Manhattan is Dixieland Jazz with the Gotham Jazzmen, which happen at noon every Tuesday. Another example of an event that you can attend all year round on weekdays is Federal Reserve Bank Tour, which takes place every week day at 1 pm (but advanced reservations are required). You can take at least 13 free tours every day of the year, except the New Year Day, July 4th, and the Christmas Day. If you are classical music afficionado, you can spend whole day in New York going from one free classical concert to another. If you love theater, then New York gives you an option to attend plays and musicals free of charge, or at deep discount. You just need to have information about it. Jeffrey Multer has been recognized worldwide for his passionate performances, extraordinary depth of musical understanding and brilliant technique. City Walk | Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn Heights and Dumbo Tour


This is a 3-hour tour that begins with a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge, an icon of New York City for over 125 years, with spectacular views of Manhattan and Brooklyn. The tour then moves on to a stroll of Brooklyn Heights, America’s and New York City’s first suburb. The tour then explores the neighborhood DUMBO before ending at the Fulton Ferry landing. Opening Reception | 2 Art Shows: Gary Stephan / Alina Tenser


On first approach Gary Stephan’s (b. 1942) paintings present as a strictly formal affair. A quick read reveals modernist compositions constructed from a circumscribed collection of shapes, palette, and strokes. That the components are familiar and the pieces appear to fall into place is part of the seduction. Alina Tenser’s (b. 1981) sculpture and video share a vocabulary with Gary Stephan, where all good conversation begins. The glyphs and lozenges that allude to real objects and real space in Stephan’s work quite literally glide across the surface of Tenser’s.

Slide Lecture | Korean Ceramics: The Great Tradition


This illustrated slide lecture will survey the history of Korean ceramics from the early historic period through the nineteenth century. The lecture will emphasize characteristics and innovations that are uniquely Korean (such as the invention of the inlay technique of ceramic decoration), but it will also explore relationships between Korean ceramics and Chinese ceramics, just as it will touch on relationships between Korean ceramics and works of art in other media.
