Another example of an event that you can attend all year round on weekdays is Federal Reserve Bank Tour, which takes place every week day at 1 pm (but advanced reservations are required). You can take at least 13 free tours every day of the year, except the New Year Day, July 4th, and the Christmas Day. If you are classical music afficionado, you can spend whole day in New York going from one free classical concert to another. If you love theater, then New York gives you an option to attend plays and musicals free of charge, or at deep discount. You just need to have information about it. Museums | (IN-PERSON, outdoors) Historic 1885 Ship, Letterpress Demonstration and History Exhibition


Wavertree is a historic iron-hulled sailing ship built in 1885, now the largest wrought iron sailing vessel afloat. Guests will visit the open-air portions of the ship. Access to the main deck and quarter deck. Learn how people worked and lived aboard a 19th century cargo sailing vessel, from the captain to the ship's officers, cooks, and crew. Then visit the cargo hold and stand atop the viewing platform and enjoy the view as you look out across New York Harbor and the Brooklyn Bridge. In addition, view an outdoor exhibition on the Pier. The series of panels and window graphics will celebrate the people of all backgrounds who lived and worked in this historic district, and the many businesses that created the foundations for New York to thrive and become the business and culture mecca it is today.

Then watch Mencius Society for the Arts's EastRiver Ensemble in a timeless folk performance of traditional music from Hebei and Donbei regions of China. Unlike other Chinese ensembles, EastRiver is uniquely led by the yangqin, a Chinese version of the hammered dulcimer which showcases the beauty and precision of this music.

Concert | Music as the Message: Juneteenth Celebration with Vocalists, Choir and More (Zoom)


Held in honor of Juneteenth, the holiday celebrating the emancipation of those who had been enslaved in the United States, the concert will celebrate the sorrow, the joy, and the accomplishments of African Americans, through multi-genre songs, poems, hymns, and personal reflections.  Created and hosted by Emmy Award-winning soprano Adrienne Danrich. Guest artists are sopranos Kisma Jordan, Joelle Lamarre, and bass-baritone Dr. Michael Preacely, with personal remembrances from 89-year-old Rose-Marie Bell. The latest workshop from our Zero Gravity Virtual Theater Lab fuses film, theater, and video game technology to experiment in a new medium where viewers interact with the performers. Inspired by Anton Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard and drawing from recordings of Chekhov's letters and dreams, this interactive online theater experience accesses the operating system behind both Chekhov's computer and the world in which his characters live, searching for happiness. This is a work-in-progress created during the pandemic, a way for artists to work through the themes of the play, the encroaching virus, and a moment of change in the world around us. Followed by live talkback with members of the cast and creative team.
