Film | Jingle Bell Rocks! (2014): Live Performances, Interviews, Rare Archive Footage (virtual)

In Jingle Bell Rocks!, director Mitchell Kezin delves into the minds of some of the world's most legendary Christmas music fanatics and hits the road to hang with his holiday heroes - including hip hop legend Joseph  "Rev Run" Simmons of RUN-D.M.C., The Flaming Lips' frontman Wayne Coyne, filmmaker John Waters, bebopper Bob Dorough, L.A. DJ and musicologist Dr. Demento, and Calypso legend The Mighty Sparrow. In his search for the twelve best, underappreciated Christmas songs ever recorded, Kezin both asks and answers the question, "Why, when Christmas rolls around, are we still stuck cozying up with Bing Crosby under a blanket of snow?" “Amazing. Touching. Original. Psychotronic... Jingle Bell Rocks! is all that and a little more”- La Presse “A surprisingly bittersweet doc.”- The Hollywood Reporter “A charming, witty film.”- The Chicago Tribune The film is available for viewing until Dec 31st.

Classical Music | Vivaldi's The Four Seasons by The National Philharmonic (virtual)

The National Philharmonic; Piotr Gajewski, conductor; Laura Colgate, violin Antonio Vivaldi's beloved classic, The Four Seasons, is presented in its entirety. The inspiration for the work came from a set of four anonymous sonnets, one for each season, from which Vivaldi took descriptive phrases to direct the development of musical ideas. This makes the concertos an early form of program music, creating stories without words.
