You can take at least 13 free tours every day of the year, except the New Year Day, July 4th, and the Christmas Day. Talk | Toscanini’s American Anthems: Archival Recordings


On December 13, 1941, in their first broadcast after the tragic bombing of Pearl Harbor, Toscanini and the NBC Symphony Orchestra presented a commemorative program of American music, including Barber’s mournful Adagio for Strings, Dvorak’s New World Symphony, and Toscanini’s own rousing arrangement of “The Star Spangled Banner.” Listen to America in the wake of the Pearl Harbor attack, with a radio collage featuring the December 13th NBC Symphony Orchestra broadcast, plus excerpts from The Bell Telephone Hour of December 8, 1941, remarks by President Roosevelt, and other archival recordings.
