The Village, with it's quiet, shaded streets, lined with lovely brick and brownstone townhouses, was once the incubating ground of artistic, social and political movements that have helped shape US history. From the Beats to the Folk Movement, from workers rights to gay rights, the Village has often been the center of it all.

Dance Performance | ALT MODE: A Collaboration between RYAT and Kate Watson-Wallace

Alt Mode, as in: alternate modalities (working title), is a body of musical works written by composer/producer RYAT (Christina McGeehan), reconstructed into a performance that integrates dance, live electronic music, video mapping, interactive media and set design. Directed and choreographed by Kate Watson-Wallace, and composed and designed by RYAT, the work asks questions about what it means to be a woman on stage, radical female presence in a popular context and equity within the form. In this work, RYAT and Watson-Wallace continue to explore how they wear their identities, working with themes of doubleness, drag, the other, pleasure and melancholy, as sources of power. They explore ecstatic states, state-shifting, and pleasure as revolution, as ways to propose new futures. Also: ARCH Dance Company - Jennifer Archibald is the founder and Artistic Director of the Arch Dance Company and Archcore40 Summer Program. She is a graduate of The Ailey School and the Maggie Flanigan Acting Conservatory where she studied the Meisner technique. Ms. Archibald has choreographed for the Atlanta Ballet, Ailey 2, Cincinnati Ballet, and commercially for the New York Knicks City Dancers, as well as chart listed singers and actors.

Film | Czech Film: Jan Svankmajer's Alice (1988)

Lewis Carroll's Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland celebrates its 150th anniversary this year. (Note: This film is not recommended for young children.) 84 minutes. Film starts at dusk. PRE-SCREENING PERFORMANCE at 7pm: Xeno and Oaklander - A minimal electronics girl/boy duo based in Brooklyn, NY. They began writing music and soundtracks in 2004. City Walk | Brooklyn Bridge Ghost Tour

An icon of New York City and one of the world's most famous man-made structures, the bridge is must-see attraction on most visitors’ Big Apple itineraries. A walk along its pedestrian promenade, with its wonderful views of Lower Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty, and Brooklyn—not to mention the bridge's Gothic arched towers—is priceless. It truly lives up to its nickname as the Eighth Wonder of the World. Yet behind all its physical beauty and charm lie darker truths. The bridge has been bad luck for some and a curse for others. Mysterious illness to a stampede to faulty construction and outright murder have claimed the lives of dozens, including the bridge's designers.
