Gallery Talk | Artists in Conversation:

As part of their latest exhibition, Abigail Lucien engages in a conversation with curator Jessica Bell Brown to discuss their interdisciplinary practice and the themes behind the work. The talk will explore Lucien’s use of sculpture, writing, and time-based media to examine memory, place, and the legacies of colonial structures. Through the lens of iron and steel, Lucien reflects on ancestral knowledge, blacksmithing traditions, and the poetic potential of materials to carry histories and emotions. Brown and Lucien will also consider concepts of loss, grief, and belonging as fluid processes, highlighting how the exhibition transforms architectural forms into vessels for memory and storytelling.
