Discussion | Women’s Pay Equity: Getting Even

It is well known that women in the United States are paid, on average, 77 cents for every dollar that a man earns. Sometimes, this is a result of women getting paid less for the same work. In other cases, women are under-represented in higher-earning positions or take different career paths due to family responsibilities. The wage gap varies among women and is larger for women of color and women in particular sectors and occupations. This event to explore this gap between men’s and women’s wages. As part of the panel discussion for the event, key actors, including economists, government representatives, activists, and corporate leaders come together to share their experiences.

Rockefeller Center is one of the most popular public spaces and tourist attractions in New York City. This depression-era commercial complex takes up over three full city blocks and is rich with history, public art, and art-deco architecture. Built by business mogul John D. Rockefeller Jr. with his own money, he instructed his team of designers and architects to build the most beautiful commercial complex of it’s kind in the world. Tour | High Line Tour

The area around the High Line Park was a vital business district of New York City, supplying fresh fruits, French Cheeses and Russian caviar as well as fresh meats to City markets. The hustle and bustle of the streets induced the City to elevate the railroad trains delivering goods to the commercial buildings. When interstate truck traffic made the railway outdated, it fell into ruin, only to be regenerated as a park.

Comedy Club | Before and After Comedy Show

A two-act improv show featuring a cast of 16 improvisers presenting a big event and everything that leads to it. In the first act, 8 improvisers frantically prepare for the event and experience the wackiness that ensues behind the scenes. In the second, completely new players take the stage to show us the actual event… but will this most important night turn out the way we hoped, or crash and burn (in the best way) because of what happened before? How will both shows weave together to seamlessly and hilariously present the lives of 16 people involved in one event, in different times? Before and After answers these titillating questions while making you laugh through a whole day and night.
