You can take at least 13 free tours every day of the year, except the New Year Day, July 4th, and the Christmas Day. This event is for people to come together and share in the beautiful art of Origami--an ancient art of folding various mediums, most commonly paper. The word comes from the combination of the Japanese verb oru (to fold) and the noun kami (paper). Other materials often folded are fabric, wire mesh, sheet metal, tissue, thin plastic, cardboard, and straws.This group meets to teach each other new models and share paper, books, and tips. This meeting iopen to all level of folders from beginner to advanced. There will be free paper available to share. You may choose to bring your own paper and books and just show up and fold! Parade | Annual German-American Culture Celebration


This parade wasfounded in 1957 by German immigrants and German-Americans -- one of the largest ancestral groups living in the United States, who wanted to keep the traditions of their homeland alive. Today, the parade is led by cadets representing the German Language Club of the Military Academy of West Point. It'ss filled with German groups wearing their traditional costumes, spectacular floats, marching bands, dancers, clubs, and organizations from across the United States, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Canada. Miss German-America and her court are crowned every May, leading the parade. To this day, the parade is still considered one of the most colorful Parades in New York, thanks to our dynamic floats, representation, and colorful cultural displays. This year, the Grand Marshalls are Till Knorn (German General Consul in New York) and Gerhard Rossbach (entrepreneur and cultural ambassador).

This concert presents choral music from sixteenth-century Spain, performed by University of Connecticut’s Collegium Musicum under the direction of Eric Rice. Curated by music historians Susan Boynton and Eric Rice, the program includes chant from the Mozarabic Chapel founded in Toledo Cathedral in the early sixteenth century and three Iberian polyphonic settings of the hymn “Pange lingua.” You must register separately for each concert, and there is a strict deadline: 11am the day before each concert. Other | Exhibition Closing Celebration: Glass Plate Holograms and Mixed Media 


British-based artist Liza Read has long explored the intersection of science, art, and culture; as an art student in the 70s, she moonlighted at the Holografix Studios, where she learned to make analogue holograms from the iconic Fred Unterseher.
