Fight promoter Nick Donati grooms a bellhop as a future champ, but has second thoughts after the now-named Kid Galahad falls for his sister. Director: Michael Curtiz Cast: Edward G. Robinson, Bette Davis, Humphrey Bogart Bette Davis was an American actress of film, television, and theater. She's considered one of the greatest actresses in Hollywood history, often playing unsympathetic, sardonic characters and her performances in a range of film genres, although her greatest successes were her roles in romantic dramas. Over the course of her career, she won the Academy Award for Best Actress twice, was the first person to accrue ten Academy Award nominations (and one write-in) for acting, and was the first woman to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Film Institute. In 1999, Davis was placed second on the American Film Institute's list of the greatest female stars of classic Hollywood cinema. Humphrey Bogart, nicknamed Bogie, was an American film and stage actor. His performances in classical Hollywood cinema films made him an American cultural icon. In 1999, the American Film Institute selected Bogart as the greatest male star of classic American cinema.

Opening Reception | Paintings and Installation on Seasonal Cycles and the Body

Inspired by the pictorial tradition of medieval calendars, Ji Hye Kim’s site-specific installation and paintings on silk and canvas explore the body’s psychic reconnection to nature as it moves from the Autumn Equinox through the Winter Solstice. Scenes of harvesting, sowing, and seasonal labor are reinterpreted as allegories of closure and transition. Against this backdrop, silhouetted, skeletal forms teeter on the edge of decomposition, their limbs dissolving into primordial marks within the artist’s richly rendered grayscale palette.
