The Drawing in the Park program offers artists of all experience levels the opportunity to create in a beautiful environment, with an instructor on hand to provide guidance and critiques. Participants are offered the chance to paint in watercolor, or use pastels, chalk, and charcoal. Artists can draw upon the actual landscapes or to draw from their own imagination. Discussion | Prison Education in a Time of Mass Incarceration


A panel discussion covering different approaches to prison education, the role of prison education, and the corresponding role of educating the public about prisons. In conjunction with the exhibition Life After Death and Elsewhere, showcasing art by death row inmates. Participants: - Craig Cullinane is a social justice and diversity educator, and is also the Program Manager for Rehabilitation Through the Arts. - Dr. Baz Dreisinger is a professor at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and is founder and Academic Director of the Prison-to-College Pipeline program. - Barbara Yontz is a professor at St. Thomas Aquinas College, and has embarked on long term exhibition projects with death row inmates.
