Tour | Greenwich Village Neighborhood Tour

Greenwich Village is among Manhattan's most desirable and expensive residential neighborhoods. It's history, however, betrays it's monied status. The Village, with it's quiet, shaded streets, lined with lovely brick and brownstone townhouses, was once the incubating ground of artistic, social and political movements that have helped shape US history. From the Beats to the Folk Movement, from workers rights to gay rights, the Village has often been the center of it all. Tours are Mondays and Fridays at 2pm, and Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10am.

Rockefeller Jr. with his own money, he instructed his team of designers and architects to build the most beautiful commercial complex of it’s kind in the world. Discussion | #PurpleReigns: A Tribute to Prince

This spring marked loss of a major artistic and cultural icon - Prince. Even President Barack Obama publicly mourned him and the United States Senate passed a resolution praising his achievements. Prince has had such a strong impact – from the boundary-pushing music he wrote and played, the musicians he supported, to the image and fashion he projected. He garnered fans worldwide across age, race, gender, sexual orientation and music genres. In honor of what would have been Prince's 58th year and inspired by the Black Lives Matter's hashtag acknowledging Prince's passing, faculty Julia Ott, Simon Critchley, Deva Woodly and Claire Potter reflect on the unique place The Purple One will forever hold in the cultural zeitgeist, followed by a dance party celebration of his amazing music and visual style.
