You can take at least 13 free tours every day of the year, except the New Year Day, July 4th, and the Christmas Day. Museums | Art and Sculpture Museum and Garden

Museums | Historic 1885 Ship, Exhibition, Letterpress Printing Demo and More


Visit this historic iron-hulled sailing ship built in 1885, now the largest wrought iron sailing vessel afloat. Guests will visit the open-air portions of the ship. Access to the main deck and quarter deck. Learn how people worked and lived aboard a 19th century cargo sailing vessel, from the captain to the ship's officers, cooks, and crew. Then visit the cargo hold and stand atop the viewing platform and enjoy the view as you look out across New York Harbor and the Brooklyn Bridge. In addition, enjoy an outdoor exhibition and letterpress printing demonstration.

Classical Music | Beethoven's Ninth Symphony: Herbert von Karajan, The Berlin Philharmonic (online, streaming until Oct 8)


In this recording from 1968, Herbert von Karajan leads the preeminent Berlin Philharmonic in Beethoven's Ninth Symphony at the Berlin Philharmonie. Featuring some of the most renowned opera singers of the 20th century: soprano Gundula Janowitz, mezzo-soprano Christa Ludwig, tenor Jess Thomas, and bass-baritone Walter Berry. Generally regarded as one of the greatest conductors of the 20th century, Herbert von Karajan (1908-1989) was a dominant figure in European classical music from the mid-1950s until his death. By one estimate, he was the top-selling classical music recording artist of all time, having sold an estimated 200 million records.

Sunhe Hong’s solo exhibition features her body of work from the year 2007 to the present, and the show will be centered on Sunhe’s intimate paintings and drawings. Sunhe Hong is a Korean-born contemporary artist based in New York City. After moving to United States, Sunhe earned her BFA in Fine Arts from Youngstown State University in Ohio. After graduation, she moved to New York City, worked as a fashion designer for five years and received an AAS degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology.
