Park Walk | Governors Island is Now Open!


The park is now open daily for passive recreation activities from 10AM to 6PM on weekdays and 10AM to 7PM on weekends. Governors Island is a 172 acre island in the heart of New York Harbor, offering breathtaking never-before-seen views of the Statue of Liberty and NYC. The landmark is a transformation of Governors Island from an abandoned former military base to what is envisioned to be a year-round destination for recreation, culture and innovation.
