Tour | Greenwich Village Neighborhood Tour

Greenwich Village is among Manhattan's most desirable and expensive residential neighborhoods. It's history, however, betrays it's monied status. The Village, with it's quiet, shaded streets, lined with lovely brick and brownstone townhouses, was once the incubating ground of artistic, social and political movements that have helped shape US history. From the Beats to the Folk Movement, from workers rights to gay rights, the Village has often been the center of it all.

Performance | Open Studio with The National Theater of the United States of America

AmericaA glimpse of three theatrical works in development. Projects include: The Contrast: Originally written in 1787 by Royall Tylers, The Contrast is one of the earliest satires of American cultural identity. Now, The National Theater of the United States of America radically reinterprets the play with 10 different companies/artists in a custom built colonial era playhouse. Nostalgia Therapy: This piece is a participatory installation exploring perceptions of time travel as modes of relaxation, meditation, and rejuvenation. Making use of vintage music and equipment and informed by neuroscience, Jonathan Jacobs a.k.a. the Vintage DJ, offers individual experiences of nostalgic release in a functioning spa environment. Madame Lynch: This new play by Normandy Sherwood is based on the true story of an Irish prostitute and self-declared “Empress of Paraguay” and her doomed project of bringing European high culture to the inhabitants of a country that neither understood nor desired what she offered.

Concert | Dancehall/Reggae Sounds: Chronixx and The Zincfence Redemption / Junior Reid / The Rice and Peas Crew

With a big smile and an engaging personality, Chronixx confidently set out to make his mark in music by writing his first song by the age of five. At 14 years, he started producing and ‘building riddims’ for artistes such as Konshens and Munga Honorable. Today, Chronixx credits his versatility and his professional stage presence to the early lessons he received from his father Chronicle, who always shared his own experiences and encouraged his son to go one step beyond with each performance. A Kingston, Jamaica native, Delroy "Junior" Reid spent his youth in the city's Waterhouse district, notorious for being one of the most dangerous places in Jamaica. It was there in the politically turbulent late '70s, that he recorded his first single, "Speak the Truth," at the age 13, taking his first step towards becoming an internationally known reggae and dancehall artist. New York City’s Rice and Peas is a movement whose high-energy party environment is home to a loyal following of creative influencers, artists, musicians, dancers and all around beautiful people. Since its inception in 2007, Rice and Peas has been bringing diverse groups of people together in a uniquely curated environment where dancehall and Caribbean culture meet downtown.
