Opening Reception | Marc Séguin: I Love America and America Loves Me

This is Marc Séguin's third solo show with the gallery. The title references Joseph Beuys' definitive 1974 performance where Beuys spent three days in a room with a coyote after being transported from the airport while blindfolded and not once touching American soil. This experimental sentiment is echoed in Séguin's recent painted snapshots of America, reflecting on the prerogatives of our cultural empire and the right of individuality we use as a defense for our actions.

Join Caroline Moss and Michelle Markowitz for the second installment of Hey Ladies LIVE! This time, the holidays remain stressful for some fearless women. Ali just wants a bike (but like a cute one, guys are into bikes!) and Katie is "working on a novel" about her basic friends (fictional, obv). They'll be reading some old stuff, some new stuff, and YOUR submissions of real Hey Ladies emails, and guess what? THE SAME CAST IS BACK. Thanks Taylor, Chantal Strasburger, Molly Mulshine, Veronica De Souza, Jessie Guy-Ryan, Alison Griffin Vingiano, and Brendan O'Connor. Concert | Jill Sobule’s Music from Yentl Featuring the Isle of Klezbos

Based on Isaac Bashevis Singer’s short story “Yentl the Yeshiva Boy” and updated with new music and lyrics composed by Jill Sobule, Yentl tells the story of a young girl in 19th century Eastern Europe forbidden to pursue her dream of studying Talmud. Unwilling to accept her fate, she disguises herself as a man. But when she falls in love, Yentl must decide how far she’s willing to go to protect her identity. Invigorated with a bracing klezmer/pop/rock score by Jill Sobule (the original “I Kissed a Girl,” “Supermodel”), Yentl asks up-to-the-minute questions about gender and sexuality.
