Concert | Franz Schubert's Song Cycle Winterreise: A Multimedia Concert Performance


The New York Concert Opera performances, titled "Die Winterreise" and presented in the order of the original poems by Wilhelm Mueller, are sung by German-American baritone Ulrich Hartung. He will be accompanied by a chamber ensemble consisting of piano, viola, cello, woodwind and brass players in an arrangement by Stefan Kozinski, a New York composer/conductor currently at Bremen Opera. The dramatized performances are semi-staged with multimedia and presented in three parts lasting in total about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Jazz | Jazz Ensembles Featuring the Great Saxophonist Bobby Porcelli


New York native Bobby Porcelli is one of Latin and Afro-Cuban jazz's most accomplished flautists and alto saxophonists. Bobby Porcelli has earned his stellar reputation through years of performing with the biggest names in Latin music. He joined the Tito Rodriguez Orchestra in 1963 and later the Machito Orchestra in 1965. Porcelli began playing with Tito Puente during 1966 and continued on with Puente for over 30 years. He is the only lead alto sax player to have played steadily with the "Big Three" from the Palladium Era (Puente, Machito, and Rodriquez).
