His solo album, The 3 B's, received 4 stars from DownBeat magazine and features the music of Bud Powell, Bill Evans, along with his personal improvisations on Beethoven themes. Ted is the recipient of the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano Competition prize, grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, and has had many of his works commissioned and premiered by prestigious institutions like the New York City Opera and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
