Discussion | Exploring the Forms & Practices of Gathering through Art and Culture

This public program brings together Nancy Adajania, May Adadol Ingawanij, Frida Muenala from Mullu, and Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung for an evening of inquiry into forms and practices of gathering. The speakers, who represent diverse practices in the cultural fields—from art making to curation to institutional leadership—and operate across vast geographies, will unpack their different approaches to assemblies. Among the topics that will be discussed are assemblies of the human and other-than-human as collectives, assemblies of materials into collections, and assemblies of spaces and places into shared worlds. The speakers will draw from their engagement with exhibitions, films, public programs, and cultural institutions to map how these forms of assemblies realize the poetic potential of coming together through difference. This event offers an opportunity to imagine other futures together, complicating established linearities and teleologies. Following the presentations, a discussion will be held, as well as a reception.

Workshop | Yoga in the Park with Expert Instructor

This yoga class is appropriate for all levels. It's taught by Angelica Wilson, who's been guiding bodies through space for over a decade. At age 18, she was convinced by a friend to take a yoga class and fell in love with savasana. As she began teaching yoga, she found that there weren't many teachers that looked like her but there were plenty of students that did. That realization led her to be a full time yoga instructor. Through teaching, Angelica is the representation that she wishes to see on and off the mat, to show that everyBODY can do yoga. Please bring your own mat (the park does not provide yoga mats). Organizers also recommend bringing water and a towel.

Play | Shakespeare's All's Well That Ends Well in the Park

"This is the way Shakespeare wrote his plays to be seen." -The Huffington Post Get swept up in one of Shakespeare's boldest romantic comedies with New York Classical Theatre! Written around 1604, All's Well That Ends Well is one of Shakespeare's boldest romantic comedies. When Helena--a brilliant, determined young woman--heals a king, she earns the right to choose her husband. But love isn't so simple, and she must use wit, courage, and a daring plan to win the life she desires. Full of humor, heart, and twists, this rarely performed gem is a story of love on Helena's terms. New York Classical Theatre's signature style, Panoramic Theatre, turns public spaces into the world of the play. Instead of sitting in one place, the audience moves with the actors from scene to scene, following the action as it unfolds. This immersive approach creates a dynamic, interactive experience where every performance is shaped by its surroundings.
