You can take at least 13 free tours every day of the year, except the New Year Day, July 4th, and the Christmas Day. Backed by creative support from behavioral scientists and health care researchers, VR programmers Sarah Ticho and Niki Smit's Soul Paint combines 3-D drawing, playful avatar interaction, video game inputs, and explorations of shared interior worlds, all underscored by narration from NAACP Image Award-winning actor Rosario Dawson. You'll be given the digital tools to create an expressive virtual reality artwork about your own emotions and embodied sensations--depicting what your inner life looks like. Then you are invited to observe the creations of others. This one-of-a-kind VR expedition offers new methods of embodied insight, encouraging us to reflect on the scope of human experience on an individual and global level. Participation to this virtual reality experience is first-come, first-served; advanced reservation is not required. In the event that a line forms, Guest Experience representatives will assist you in registering for our Virtual Queue. In celebration of Black History Month, watch John Henrik Clarke: A Great and Mighty Walk (1996,) directed by the Harlem-born documentary filmmaker, St. Clair C. Bourne. St. Claire C. Bourne’s filmography, celebrated in a 1988 retrospective at the Whitney Museum of American Art, centers a range of subjects and social issues pertaining to Black-American life. In John Henrik Clarke: A Great and Mighty Walk, the filmmaker documents the Pan-Africanist leader John Henrik Clarke, whose critical scholarship informed the development of the field of Africana Studies.

This event is for people to come together and share in the beautiful art of Origami--an ancient art of folding various mediums, most commonly paper. The word comes from the combination of the Japanese verb oru (to fold) and the noun kami (paper). Other materials often folded are fabric, wire mesh, sheet metal, tissue, thin plastic, cardboard, and straws.This group meets to teach each other new models and share paper, books, and tips. This meeting is free and open to all level of folders from beginner to advanced. There will be free paper available to share. You may choose to bring your own paper and books and just show up and fold! If you have models you would like to learn, or teach, let the organizers know, and they will try our best to accommodate.
