How was it to live inside the mental and spiritual prison for years during the Soviet Union? What does it mean to live under the rainbow shadow within the Putin's Russia?
Speaker: Lyosha Gorshkov, PhD in Political Science, Co-President at the Russian-Speaking LGBT American Association (RUSA LGBT, USA).
Gorshkov was forced to leave Russia in 2014 for being open gay professor and activist in Perm region. Lyosha has been studying and teaching LGBTIQ identity since 2005, and was one of few people in Russian Academy, trying to make LGBTIQ issues visible. He is a vocal and outspoken public advocate for LGBTIQ rights.
