You can take at least 13 free tours every day of the year, except the New Year Day, July 4th, and the Christmas Day. Park Walk | Central Park Loop Walk


Avoid the snow, ice, mud and runaway horses of recent walks while getting stretched out. Starting at Columbus Circle, walk the entire Central Park Loop, a total of 6.1 miles. If you want to avoid the steep hills at the north end of the park, you can use the 102nd Street transverse, which will shorten the walk to 5.2 miles. The full walk should take about three hours, bring water and snacks.

Festival | Out to See: A Collaboration of Artists and Musical Performers


What began as a local, grass roots effort trying to energize the community in the wake of hurricane Sandy has blossomed into a full-scale event intertwining 17 local stores, restaurants and venues. Artworks, curated by Sara Reisman of Percent For Art, will be installed throughout the entire neighborhood in local businesses and unused spaces. Music performances will take place in the evening.

Concert | Vienna's Musical Production During the Great War, with the Vienna Philharmonic


Members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, baritone Csongor Szantó and pianist Karin Wagner present a program of rare Viennese song-compositions in the context of the outbreak of the first world war. Works by outstanding figures of Viennese operetta and popular music (Lehár, Benatzky, Stolz, and Hochreiter) are presented along side Arnold Schoenberg's ironic parody of militarism Die eiserne Brigade (The Iron Brigade for piano quintet), written in 1916. The Viennese music historian Christian Glanz, from Vienna's University of Music and Performing Arts, provides an introduction illustrated with archival materials of the time.
