Workshop | Hypnagogic Light Experience and Sound Meditation

The hypnagogic light experience with Lucia N°03 is a modern form of temple sleep that invites one to ... more >> linger in the carefree perfection of the eternal Now. When we exhaust ourselves through busy lifestyles, sometimes the best solution is to live in the moment and let go. Lucia N°03, is a neuro-stimulator which combines a stroboscope (flickering light) with a constant light operating in different frequencies and programs. As a traveler sits with closed eyes white light activates different areas of the brain and allows for immersion into an alternate state of consciousness. Research has shown Lucia No. 3 stimulates harmonic EEG brain wave patterns (these brain patterns usually only emerge after decades of meditation practice and allows for a transcendental experiences). This experiential workshop includes a demo and Q+A with Dr. Dirk Proeckl, co-Inventor of Lucia N°03 revolutionary light technology, with Dr. Marina Masic (Founder of Lumina NY) and features Hypnagogic Light demonstrations and special Sound Healing collaboration by Basia. Note: Due to stroboscopic nature, Lucia No.3 is not recommended for those with light-sensitive epilepsy For demos, there will be very limited slots to try light therapy machine.

Opening Reception | The Overworked Body: An Anthology of 2000s Dress

Fashion during the 2000s could be described as a period of hybrid subcultural styles remixing former ... more >> selves, championing the principle of individual expression. The decade also saw the industry of fast-fashion massively expand its market, proliferating the presence of smart-casual wear. As such, fashion during this time embodied the conflicting roles of both globalization and homogeneity alongside pastiche and pluralism. However, what makes fashion from the aughts so debatable to define is its proximity to the present. It is only through the machine of history that fashion finds its protagonists. How to define a recent history of fashion? In an effort to obstruct our tendency to assign a specific style to a decade, The Overworked Body: An Anthology of 2000s Dress surveys the iconoclastic to the underground, the everyday to the critical, and presents a period in fashion that is overloaded and overworked.
